Our bariatric hospital beds are second to none.

We’ve been making heavy duty bariatric hospital beds for 20 years. Over the years, we’ve found that bariatric clients need more than your run-of-the-mill adjustable hospital bed. We transformed the industry by creating  beds for heavy people with up to five functions, including Trendelenburg, Reverse Trendelenburg, and Cardiac Chair positions in a range of sizes. You can enjoy these features in our standard Twin, Full, and Queen bariatric beds, as well as in custom sizes based on your needs.

Transfer Master heavy duty bariatric beds are easy to clean and look nice in your bedroom. The beds offer the functionality of a hospital-grade bed with a design that blends into any bedroom. They are also fully customizable to support specialty hand controls and other options.

These bariatric beds can offer you the relief you’ve been looking for—as they have for customers in every major city in the 48 contiguous states and clients in 100+ maternity wards and sleep labs in North America.

Old-fashioned craftsmanship is evident in each hospital bed we build. Every home bariatric bed is hand built in the USA and each part is overbuilt for a long and useful life. Parts are either bolted or welded together to ensure the product’s integrity. These beds are built to last.

Frequently Asked Questions about our bariatric hospital beds

Bariatric beds are designed for big people, including overweight and obese people. A bariatric hospital bed is a bed that is reinforced to support a higher weight capacity than a traditional hospital bed. The best bariatric beds for heavy people need to not only handle the additional weight of a large patient but do so comfortably for the end-user. They often feature larger width and length measurements to accommodate patients of all sizes. This means bariatric beds are perfect for obese users, maternity wards, sleep labs, or heavy people undergoing rehabilitation that require a therapist to be on the bed with the patient.

The best home hospital bed for you depends on your specific health needs, which is why we offer a variety of home hospital beds with different features. Our premium Supernal Sleep System offers the functionality of traditional hospital beds with a look that blends with any bedroom décor. The Supernal 5 strikes the ultimate balance between style and function. All of our Supernal beds are available in twin, full, and queen sizes.

For patients with specific mobility or health issues, we also offer a rehab line that includes the Night Rider and Companion beds.

Our heavy-duty (HD) bariatric beds support up to 750 lbs.

The best adjustable bed for a heavy person depends on their weight and their individual medical needs. We offer a complete range of standard weight capacity and bariatric beds for heavier people. Our flagship Supernal 5 adjustable beds support up to 400 lbs. The Supernal Hi-Low has a maximum weight capacity of 500 lbs. Heavier individuals, or those who need treatment on the bed by a therapist who brings the combined weight above a standard bed’s capacity, should choose a bariatric hospital bed with a higher weight capacity.

You may need a special mattress for your bariatric hospital bed, depending on the total weight capacity needed. Bariatric bed frames function best when paired with a mattress that offers flexibility and strong support to keep heavy patients comfortable. We offer two standard adjustable bed mattress options:  The Ascent Hospital Bed Mattress and the Soft Touch Memory Foam Mattress, which are rated for individuals up to 500 lbs. Additionally, our range of  pressure relief mattresses support up to 750 lbs with a bariatric bed. We also offer a bariatric mattress that supports up to 750 lbs.

Our Hi-Low height adjustable bariatric beds offer a range of motion, from deck to floor, of between 12 inches to 24 inches. This helps to accommodate patients with limited mobility who would benefit from a lower height bariatric bed.
