King and Dual King home hospital beds for couples who want to share their hospital bed in comfort

Dual King hospital beds—also known as Split King hospital beds—are divided in two, providing a pair of Twin-sized sleeping surfaces, which, when combined, offers near-infinite possible configurations. With a Dual King home hospital bed, you can sit up in bed, supported by the head adjustment, while your partner sleeps comfortably beside you.

Many of our premium home hospital beds for couples are available in a Dual King configuration, including the Supernal 5, our flagship home hospital bed, the Supernal Hi-Low, and heavy duty beds designed for couples with bariatric conditions.

All functions on Transfer Master home hospital beds are powered by motors and can be controlled by an intuitive wired or wireless controller, allowing each member of a couple to adjust the configuration of their side of the bed without disturbing their partner.

Our beds are designed to blend in with your decor, and when a Dual King home hospital bed is covered with linens in its lowest position, it looks just like an ordinary Eastern King bed.

For couples who prefer not to choose a Dual King, we also offer a wide variety of Queen and King home hospital beds for couples.

Frequently Asked Questions About Home Hospital Beds for Couples

Each side of a Dual King bed can be adjusted independently to the preferences of the occupants. Depending on the bed, that functionality includes adjustable heights, head and tail adjustments, and tilt adjustment. Our Twin, Full, and Queen beds have the same range of adjustments, but the adjustments apply to the whole bed.

While it may be possible to pair a home hospital bed with a traditional bed, it is not the most comfortable or functional solution. Our Dual King beds are designed and built to allow maximal flexibility, comfort, and safety—this would be almost impossible to achieve with mismatched beds.

All of our beds, including the Supernal 5, are designed to look good in your home, blending in with your furniture. In its default configuration, a Dual King looks like any other King-size bed.

The standard configuration for a Dual King is the same width as an Eastern King mattress (78 inches) and 80 inches long. We can also custom-make Dual Kings in the narrower California King (72 inches) width – however, this sizing is not standard and needs to be custom ordered.

Yes. Each side of a Dual King has a separate mattress, allowing users to choose a mattress with the firmness they prefer. It should be noted that standard consumer mattresses may not be suitable for a home hospital bed, as standard hospital bed mattresses are known to be uncomfortable for long periods of time.

Transfer Master offers a wide selection of hospital bed mattresses, including the Supernal Sleep System, pressure-relief mattresses, and bariatric mattresses.

Yes. Our Heavy Duty home hospital beds are available in Dual King configurations for patients with bariatric requirements, including the Night Rider HD and Companion HD Bariatric Hospital Bed.
